Aloma Barnes Siraswar

Costume Designer | Stylist | Set Designer (She/Her)

Aloma Barnes Siraswar is a Sydney-based costume designer, stylist, and set designer working across theatre, film, and live performance. With a background in fashion design and a Master’s degree in Costume Design for Performance from the London College of Fashion, her practice bridges storytelling, visual artistry, and practical design.

Her work spans costume design, fashion styling, and set design, drawing on a strong understanding of silhouette, texture, and visual narrative. Aloma has collaborated with theatre companies, film productions, and festivals across Australia, the UK, and India, creating cohesive visual worlds that enhance character, mood, and story. Her styling experience informs her approach to costume and design, allowing her to craft looks that feel intentional, expressive, and grounded in character psychology.

Aloma’s creative practice balances historical reference with contemporary aesthetics, often embracing bold experimentation and anachronistic elements to prioritise character over convention. She is particularly interested in how costume, styling, and space work together to shape audience perception and deepen storytelling.

Committed to continual growth, Aloma seeks to further develop both her creative and technical skills with every project. She approaches each opportunity as a chance to evolve her craft — expanding her visual language, refining her execution, and building immersive, evocative worlds that strengthen her voice as a multidisciplinary designer.
